GOLEM MECANIQUE - Siamo tutti in pericolo LP

Siamo tutti in pericolo" is the third album by Golem Mecanique, the pseudonym of French multi-instrumentalist and composer Karen Jebane, released on Ideologic Organ. Jebane works on the fringes of contemporary folk (aka La Novea Community), microtonal sound, and early modernism, but also touches on the ash and fiber of back metal and the DNA of gothic music, literature, sorcery, and, most importantly, poetry. Jebane's work with the drone box (a mechanized hurdy-gurdy) and the zither as a smooth and undulating surface for her vocals is immediately apparent in an almost ceremonial way, inviting her into a space of clear, dark creativity and beauty. On "Siamo tutti in pericolo," Jebane works with her compositional forms in a new way, poetic and economical in the execution of her techniques, through her homage/hymns/meditations on the highly irregular circumstances and questions/mysteries of the passing of the soul of master artist Pier Paolo Pasolini.
