Between a Benjamins rehearsal weekend, a Die Nerven tour and the first Beatsteaks demos, Julian and Thomas added another day, wrote and recorded two songs. Two bass riffs and 10 minute jams each became two songs: “Event” and “Is it easier”. Lyrically it is short, ambivalent and comes from the heart. The instruments are correspondingly sparse: bass, drums, guitar and the synthesizer. For the dreamed-of maxi single at 45 revolutions per minute, only two dub versions of the songs for the B side were missing. Schleifi and Braui aka DJ Schleifstein and Jan Brauer (Brandt Brauer Frick) as well as Andi Thoma (Mouse on Mars) gave us the missing dubs.
